What we do know: A low-resolution, close-up image of a dark-skinned person with a beard and glasses, whose face is distorted to resemble a gorilla or ape with a wide, flat nose and prominent brow. The image is used in Twitch chat to express a mix of amusement, mock surprise, or a 'monkaS'-style reaction to something weird or intense.
